Honda, the Japanese carmaker has pulled the wraps off their new Avancier flagship SUV at the ongoing Auto China 2016.
Which Built on the Honda Concept D SUV that was displayed at the Beijing Motor Show 2015, the Honda Avancier will be positioned above the CR-V, providing more credibility to Honda’s image in a market where they’re not exactly well-known for their SUVs. Though the company already sells a product with the same name Avancier in Japan, the new one has got nothing to do with the former.
The new Honda SUV looks more like a Crossover than a proper SUV due to its coupe like shape. With a sloping roof-line, the Avancier may be remind you of the BMW X6 which basically started the culture of coupe-shaped SUVs /Crossovers in the world. It features a spacious cabin and high-quality driving experience.
Honda said that Power is to come from a 2.0- liter VTEC turbocharged petrol unit, but the entry-level version is expected to use a 2.4- liter naturally aspirated petrol engine along with the former mated to a nine-speed automatic and the latter possibly getting a CVT/ 6-speed manual combo.
Engine specifications of the Honda Avancier are yet to be revealed. Though, the manufacturer has confirmed that it will come with an opt of a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The new Avancier is fully equipped with the Honda sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies.
The SUV is likely to launch in China at the end of this year or early next year. Though there is no clarity about its India launch, we hope to see this in our market as well in future.
