After months of anticipation and countless leaks, Meizu – the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched officially its next flagship, the Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus. But before we talk about the common specs and features, we need to mention the unique one, which is, of course, the secondary display. The both smartphone comes with the support for a second AMOLED display on the back of the devices. Providing the secondary display has made this smartphone to gain wide popularity in the market.
The second display features a tiny 1.9 inch AMOLED touchscreen display on the back of the phone, which carries the support for 240 × 536 pixels resolution at a 307 ppi pixel density. The back display will show you notifications, weather, time, music, and much more. The smartphone second display also serves as a screen for capturing selfies with the rear facing cameras. Well, it would seem a bit hard to digest but yeah it is absolutely right!
Aside from the second screen, the both smartphones offer decent specs and hardware. The Meizu Pro 7 smartphone features a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display with the screen resolution of 1080 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Helio P25 processor and paired with 4GB of RAM. To store data and files, there is a 64GB of built-in storage capacity.
While the larger and more powerful Meizu Pro 7 Plus sports a slightly massive 5.7-inch touchscreen display, which carries the support for QHD resolution. It is powered by the Helio P30 processor and equipped with 6GB of high-speed RAM. For the storage, there are two options available, either a 64GB or a hefty 128GB of internal storage.
Regarding the photography, both smartphones sport a dual 12-megapixel rear camera setup on the back of the handset. On the front, there is an incredible 16-megapixel front facing camera for capturing bright and clear selfies. Both smartphones run on the latest version of Flyme OS 6, based on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
Under the hood, the Meizu Pro 7 smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery capacity, while the larger phone packs more powerful and massive 3,500mAh battery. The Plus model has also come with the support for the company’s own mCharge 4.0 fast charging technology, which uses a high-power charger at 5V and 5A. With the fast battery charging technology, you can get 67 percent charge in just 30 minutes.
On the price front, the Meizu Pro 7 will retail for $430, while the larger Pro 7 Plus will be priced at $530. Both handsets will begin shipping in August in the Chinese market and there is no word whether the two phone will get global launch or not.
