A world leader in high-performance gaming hardware and software, Razer, announced its new Razer Mechanical Keyboard Case for the iPad Pro. which was meant to be paired with the large form factor tablet in the Smart Keyboard.
This is a thin cover which features Razer’s world-first ultra-low-profile mechanical switch. The company claims this is a new evolution for the world of mechanical keyboards, that are known for their longer-lasting keys that also provide better feedback. The case is available now on Razer’s website for $170.
This feels like one of the clunkier aspects of the iPad Pro which has opened the doors to the other manufacturers to step in and try to build a different solution. Although not the first on the scene with a smart keyboard for the iPad Pro, Razer has leveraged their experience in peripherals with the launch of the new Razer Mechanical Keyboard Case for the Apple iPad Pro.
Razer provided the following specifications for its newest product:
- Optimized actuation and reset points
- Razer ultra-low profile mechanical switches
- Slim chiclet keycaps
- Metal kickstand
- Designed for iPad Pro
- Detachable polycarbonate protective case
- 10 hours on a single charge with backlight on maximum brightness
- 600 hours on a single charge with backlighting turned off.
In addition, this keyboard case features a metal kickstand, that folds out behind. This would replace the folding one-position version that comes with the Apple accessory. Along with the hinged kickstand, the Razer case offers much more adjustability for positioning the tablet for typing.
